A British Delicacy

Afternoon Tea

– Finger Sandwiches
– Brownie and Cake
– Scone with Clotted cream and Strawberry Jam Fresh Fruit
– Tea Pot of Teapigs Tea

Afternoon tea was introduced in England by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, in the year 1840. The Duchess would become hungry around four o’clock in the afternoon. The evening meal in her household was served fashionably late at eight o’clock, thus leaving a long period of time between lunch and dinner. The Duchess asked that a tray of tea, bread and butter and cake be brought to her room during the late afternoon. This became a habit of hers and she began inviting friends to join her.

The Picnic Wine Partner

Sea Change Wine is a family run business founded over 15 years ago turning the tide on plastic pollution in our oceans. With the removal of the unnecessary plastic wrap around the cork, the use of renewable plant-based closures and the paper for the labels coming from certified sustainable forests and made partially from grape waste, combined with a donation to marine charities from every bottle sold we think choosing Sea Change does make a difference.

Sea Change has raised in excess of €90,000 to support projects that help turn the tide on plastic pollution and the devastation it is causing.

We will be serving a selection of fine wines

Negroamaro

Bursting with red fruit and sunshine with its velvety mouthfeel. Medium bodied with soft tannins, the initial burst of bright fruit is followed by a smooth, lingering finish.

Provence Rose

The wine itself is full of fresh zesty grapefruit, delicate white peach and tropical pineapple flavours. This sublime Provence rosé is perfectly balanced and guaranteed to impress.

1 bottle of white wine

Pinot Grigio

Crisp and refreshing, this vibrant Pinot Grigio is bursting with citrus zest. This fun and flavoursome crowd-pleaser is the perfect all-rounder; great on its own or perfect with food.

Bottle of Red Wine next to picnic basket

Merlot

Sea Change Merlot is crammed with flavours of delicious summer fruits and hints of green pepper on the nose. We think the subtle spice and soft tannins on the palate compliment the ripe berry flavours resulting in a delicious full bodied red wine.

Bottle of prosecco and two glasses

Prosecco Rose

Sea Change Prosecco Rosé offers delicate aromas of summer berries complimented by a gentle taste profile and fine, streaming bubbles.  All of this adds up to a wonderfully elegant Prosecco rosé that is both flavoursome and refreshing.

White Wine bottle with glass and food

Sauvignon Blanc

The first things we notice when we enjoy a glass of Sea Change Sauvignon Blanc are aromas of aromatic green citrus and grapefruit, set alongside beautiful balance and structure. A dry white, it’s fresh and full of summer zest.
